In order to enable the youth to match the requirements of local industries, the district administration will bring out new skill development courses with the active participation of the industrialists.
After participating in a video conference, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal held a meeting with officials of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE).
Sarangal said that to bridge the gap between skill training being imparted and industry demand, the district administration will hold brainstorming sessions with the industrialists in this week to know their requirements for the workforce so that new courses can be started accordingly.
He added that Jalandhar is known as the hub of manufacturing sports goods, leather goods, hand tools, pipe fitting, and many more and these industries several kinds of jobs. He said that industrialists would be made an integral part of the process so that the youth could be taught what they want.
The Deputy Commissioner said that new courses would be designed according to the demand of the industry which will enhance the technical abilities of the youth. He said that they would be able to get maximum employment opportunities and would become self-reliant also. He expressed hope that the new curriculum would play a key role in grooming the unemployed youth of district and nearby areas by sharpening their skills. He said that special focus would be laid on empowering the youth, especially from the needy and underprivileged strata of society by imparting quality training through such courses.
Sarangal further directed the officials to complete all required formalities within a week in this regard.
