Punjab Local Bodies Minister Mr. Balkar Singh on Sunday said that the redevelopment of Jalandhar cantonment and Phillaur railway stations would bring a huge amount of industry upside in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participating in the virtual foundation stone ceremony of redevelopment railway stations by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, The Cabinet Minister said that Jalandhar was a hub of sports, leather and hand tool industry. He said that redevelopment would not increase the business growth of the industry but will also lead to rise in employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minister said the modernisation of these old railway stations would create a new atmosphere for development and leave a good impression on visitors especially businessmen who visit the Jalandhar regularly. He said that redevelopment of railway stations would also promote the Jalandhar and its culture among the visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is pertinent to mention that Jalandhar Cantonment Railway station will be redeveloped with Rs 98 crores whereas Rs 24 crore will be spent on Phillaur railway station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
